Peter R. Watson, M.D.
Peter Watson is a 1983 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia in 1986. After a Fellowship in Hematology and oncology through the Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Watson joined Kinston Medical Specialists as staff oncologist. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and in Oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He has admitting privileges at Lenoir Memorial Hospital, where he has served on various committees, holding many chair positions. He has consulting privileges at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Onslow Memorial Hospital, Duplin General Hospital, and Carteret General Hospital. Dr. Watson participates in ASCO clinical trials, for which he has received national recognition. He is a principal investigator for both CALGB and CTSU trial studies. He has been serving as the president of Kinston Medical Specialists since 2010. Dr. Watson sees patients in the Kinston, Onslow, and Kenansville offices. His professional memberships include the North Carolina Oncology Society, the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the North Carolina Medical Society, and the Lenoir-Greene County Medical Society.
Misbah Ul-Ahsan Qadir, M.D.
Misbah Qadir graduated from King Edward Medical College with a degree in medicine in 1995. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Buffalo’s Sisters of Charity Hospital in 2002 and a Fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute at the University of Buffalo in 2005. Dr. Qadir is board certified in Hematology, Oncology, and Internal Medicine. He joined Kinston Medical Specialists, P.A. in July of 2005, where he continues to be a staff physician and partner. Dr. Qadir has full medical privileges at Lenoir Memorial Hospital and consulting privileges at Onslow Memorial Hospital and Duplin General Hospital. He is a member of the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and was elected to the American College of Physicians in 2010. Dr. Qadir participates in CALGB and CTSU clinical trials. He is recognized in the community for his compassion and excellent medical care.
Gretchen P. Vick, R.N., ANP
Gretchen Vick has been a constant in the oncology program in Kinston, North Carolina since its inception in 1988. She was one of the initial Registered Nurses who staffed the Department of Oncology at Lenoir Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Vick also worked in outpatient chemotherapy and Radiation Oncology at Lenoir Memorial Hospital Cancer Center. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina in 2002. She is board certified through the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation and the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Gretchen Vick was named Volunteer of the Year by the American Cancer Society for 1995–1996, was a past Lenoir County Chapter President, and continues to be an active member. She held the honor of Nurse of the Year at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in 2000 and is a current member of the Oncology Nursing Association. Mrs. Vick specializes in oncology practice at Kinston Medical Specialists, P.A., Division of Hematology/Oncology, and has mid-level privileges at Lenoir Memorial Hospital and Duplin General Hospital in Kenansville, North Carolina.
Sherry D. Smith, NP-C
Sherry Smith comes to Kinston Medical Specialists, P.A. with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from East Carolina University, a Master of Science degree in nursing from East Carolina University, and a post-master degree as an Adult Nurse Practitioner from Duke University.
